Zero Pe Ek Free!

This is not a Little Swiss Miss post, but actually an extension of a previous post of mine on free stuff available online (see 'Buy None Get Some Free': here). I got a lot of great feedback on this - so thanks guys!

But, the mudda of the issue was that it suddenly struck me that in my haste of putting together such an enviable list of vintage international content, I had totally missed ANY classic desi maal. Yup, there are desi films available online as well - and surprisingly for FREE. If you are scratching your head in confusion how any Indian is letting anyone have anything for free - I ask you not to fret your heads, and instead head on over to http://www.youtube.com/user/UltraHindi#p/c/6EF2E1A18AC45A5A

This is the official Ultra youtube site (they're a slightly shady Indian outfit that does mostly distribution work as far as my knowledge of the same goes) and if you look at the right menu banner, you'll see a list of entire films that you can see online. There's a fair mix of trash, utter crap and low-down dirt, but I spotted a few gems that can easily lessen the boredom of a Sunday afternoon and provide some laughs while they're at it.

- Triple A. If you don't know which film this is - just simply walk away unless you want my fist to reach out to you from the innards of this post. Remember, there are films, and then there are other films. And then there is Andaz Apna Apna. This was God's and Rajkumar Santoshi's first, last and only collaboration (PUHLEASE - APKGK was mere peanuts to this classic film) and with Amar, Prem, Crime Master Gogo, Raveena aur Karishma and Teja - I'm already cracking up. "Main Teja hoon kyunki mera naam bhi Teja hai". Genius.

- Makdee - Delightful, one of Santosh Sivan's earlier ones with the girl more seen in 'Iqbal' with Shreyas Talpade.

- In the more low-brow genre of entertainment, there's tons to pick - Raja Babu, Masti, Sapoot and several other Govinda flicks.

- Lovely vintage stuff as well - Paying Guest, Namak Haram, Mera Jeevan Sathi, Half-Ticket (Yes, yes with THE kk)

And of course some seedy stuff for the guilty watching as well - Mr Lonely Miss Lovely, Hotel and Love Sex Etc can be recommended.

Other than Ultra, Eros International also has a ... umm ... 'interesting' collection of films that can be viewed for free. I recommend alcohol and a small bunch of friends to totally make these films watchable. Watch titles you have never heard of before - Bholi Bhali Ladki, Boond (pls chk out the pic for this one) and one which you may be tempted to skip work to watch right NOW! - Jungle Ki Nagin. Oooohhh. Go here for these: http://ondemand.erosentertainment.com/product/prodsection.asp?Movie,Free_Movies. There are a couple of 'been there heard that' and some which I'm proud to say that I have watched in the theatre as well (Though I have to admit my laughingly low standard when it comes to Bollywood flicks), so don't be dismissive till you've been through the list.

And all this is total gratis. Enjoy folks.

The adventures of Swiss Miss continues in the next post.

Cheers
Sushma
